The much-anticipated new album from Russia's Moon Far Away, one of the top neofolk projects in the world, Minnesang deals with "the deep-rooted feminine archetypes in contemporary art," a theme which is "embodied in the title, which identifies a genre of medieval knight lyrics" (Tesco.com). Musically, the album is significantly more electronic and even, at times, "poppy" compared to its predecessors, and it will certainly prove to be a new experience for fans accustomed to the band's more purely contemplative, "heavenly voices" sound. However, after a few listens, it should become quite obvious that this is a magnificent record, a creation completely worthy of the band's name and legacy.
